CYCLE SPEEDWAY: British Open Final, August 28 2017

COVENTRY’S Myke Grimes became only the second rider to win the British Cycle Speedway Championships with a full maximum.

The 32-year-old delighted the Wolverhampton crowd with a stunning performance which – arguably – is one of the best ever seen in a British Final.

Grimes had to make no overtaking manoeuvres in theĀ heats he completed.

Paul Heard rode superbly well and deserved the crown, though had to settle for second. Josh Brooke finished third. More images available on request.
